HISTORY
Laurel and Iris have trained together for years, from partner training to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Built from their shared love of learning different ways to train and move the body, The Garden is a natural extension of their desire for an open and non-judgemental place to grow.
TRAINING
The foundation of our training is moving well. This means we like to train using the fullest range of motion available to the joint, in order to have the best carry-over to daily life. We also love using tempo to build movement competency at every angle! Our sessions use a variety of tools (dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, TRX, cables, sled, and bodyweight) to develop strength, stability/mobility, agility, endurance, and cardiovascular health.
PHILOSOPHY
Strength training is one of the most effective and straightforward ways to preserve your health and wellbeing. We strength train to be able to manage injuries; preserve and build muscle; carry kids and groceries; improve mental health; and boost confidence in ourselves. No one ever regrets getting stronger.
COMMUNITY
Come for the squats, stay for the deep connections you form with like-minded neighbours! Most folks at The Garden are in their 30s–50s, with young families and careers, and want to do more than go from work to home and back. If you want to get more from your gym experience, you are in the right place.
